1st painting i've completed in five years... it's been a long time coming that is for sure. just like the painting itself, about the journey of life. the stormclouds and mountains represent the trials in life and the past, the blue train from the dress is the past trailing behind her, slowing her down. she has only one more crossing to make, she can see her goal now, but still Fear whispers into Insecurity's ears and they wrap around her making it impossible to take another step. It is the past, all that pain and suffering has left her done. Unable to resist the strong hold these two have on her. One day, perhaps she will be able to break away and become all she was meant to be.

Well done. There's some areas I would look to improve with some brighter colors (namely, making the orange stand out a bit more so that there's a focal point in the painting) but beyond that I think it came out well.

thank you for such an honest and complete critique. The scan isn't quite right, so when the painting is seen live, the oranges stand out drawing the eye to the faces first. I noticed when i put up my latest painting that the colors in this one were not quite right. Thanks for bringing this better to my attention.

Thank you!
